VK Singh, 100 ex-servicemen may join BJP today
Making
his
intentions
clear,
he
said,"The
country's
interest
is
supreme.
And
BJP
is
a
party
that
works
for
national
interest."
Speculations
were
rife
when
the
retired
General
met
the
BJP
leader
and
Madhya
P
radesh
MP
Shivraj
Singh
Chouhan
at
his
residence
for
a
"courtesy
visit".
Ironically, in October last year, Singh had announced that he was firmly behind Anna Hazare and supports his cause of fighting corruption. A contrast to his sharing stage with Narendra Modi at a rally in Haryana, which was attended by ex-servicemen.
The General was in news a few days ago as he was the first serving military chief to drag the government to court in order to prove his date of birth. The debate started when the documents he had submitted to the Army stated both years-1951 and 1950.
In a petition at the Supreme Court, he claimed an answer for the rejection of his actual death by the Ministry of Defence. The Supreme Court, however, said it does not agree the Army Chief's decision.
