Video: Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti disrespects slain NIA officer Tanzil Ahmad

New Delhi, April 7: Union Minister of state for food processing Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti who is known for giving controversial statements has done the same yet again. At a time when whole country is mourning over the death of brave National Investigative Agency (NIA) officer Tanzil Ahmad, Jyoti said that she doesn't know him.

When media persons prodded more about Ahmad, she asked wether the deceased officer was from Pakistan.

Minister disrespects slain NIA officer

"Tanzil Ahmad, the one who is from Pakistan?", Sadhvi Niranjan was quoted by the media reports.

Later Minister gave excuse that she hardly gets time to read newspaper or watch TV, so she had no idea about the matter. 

Ahmad, an officer posted with the NIA was shot dead while his wife seriously injured by unidentified bike-borne assailants in the wee hours on April 3.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh police claimed Tanzeem Ahmad was shot dead last week over a "personal animosity arising out of a property dispute".

A senior police official told that while the matter is still being probed, they have zeroed in on the personal angle as the motive behind the high-profile murder.
