Chandigarh, Dec 7: A major landslide was on Monday, Dec 7, caught on camera on the Manali-Chandigarh national highway. Panicked tourists were seen running for their lives in 31-second video.
Initially, people at the NH-21, thought that the landslide was a result of today's earthquake that rocked Central Asian country Tajikistan and also shook parts of Pakistan, Afghanistan and northern India.
The landslide was reported near Hanogi temple in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, in the early morning.
According to media reports, it was later clarified that the landslide had no connection with the earthquake.
Following the landslide on Manali-Chandigarh NH-21, it was blocked to avoid any untoward incident. The affected highway is being cleared and the traffic was diverted towards the Mandi-Kotala-Bajjura road.
