Video: Largest Kaikottikali dance gets to Guinness Book of World Records
Kerala, Feb 14: In a one-of-its-kind attempts, the women in Kerala have registered themselves into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest Kaikottikali dance performance.
One of the most popular dance forms, it is performed exclusively by women during the traditional Onam festival. 5,211 dancers went through rigorous practice for the occassion and successfuly performed in front of 55,000 people.
The team was led by JItha Binoy. The performance also found place in the Thanima 2015 arts festival in Irinjalakuda (India). Planning and rehersal, with the help of Kerala Congress Leader Thomas Unniyadan, took place over a period of 10 months.
