Uttar Pradesh: Soon, mechanised sweeping to make Noida roads clean
Noida, Nov 19: In Uttar Pradesh, soon, mechanised sweeping machines will be seen cleaning the roads of Noida. To replace the traditional methods of cleaning roads and to make the work easier, the Noida Authority plans to float fresh tenders soon to get these mechanical sweeping machines.
"The new plan is to achieve the multi-purpose task of sweeping roads as well as of collecting garbage strewn around trash bins. Once a consultant is appointed, we will outline a daily schedule for the sweeping," the additional CEO of Noida Authority, Akhilesh Singh, was quoted as saying in TOI.
A consultant will be selected for the project with a five year contract and he/she will be responsible for the sweeping machines operation and maintenance.
Earlier also mechanised sweeping was introduced to clean city roads in Noida but it was not successful and after the earlier failure citizens again doubt about the success of the new plan. On the other hand, the officials are pretty confident about the success as they feel that these machines will help them keep their city clean.
A similar attempt was also introduced by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation in 2011 and it also failed to yield the desired results as people of the city said that the machine was of no help in jkeeping the roads dust free.
