'Usual Indian media hype', says Vijay Mallya after getting bail
Walking out of a London court after getting bail, Vijay Mallya took to Twitter to respond to reports of his arrest. In a tweet, while confirming that the formal extradition hearing started on Tuesday, Mallya said reports of his arrest were 'usual Indian media hype'.

The Scotland Yard police on Tuesday said that Vijay Mallya was arrested on behest of Indian authorities for charges of fraud. The liquor baron who fled the country in 2016 was arrested and produced before a court. Within hours of him being arrested, a London Court granted him bail and Mallya was on his way back home.
The arrest said to be a procedural move, marks the beginning if the extradition process to bring Vijay Mallya back to India. Deemed a willful defaulter, Vijay Mallya owes more than Rs 9,000 crore to Indian banks.
