Congress, BJP welcome the fodder scam verdict
RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was on Monday convicted in the Fodder scam case and is most likely to face a sentence of seven years.
Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tejaswi Yadav said that the family is saddened by the verdict. "However we will be appealing to a higher court and that the party will bounce back in the elections."
Former Deputy CM Sushil Modi said that the judgement will act as a deterrent to other leaders and politicians in the country.
BJP welcomed the decision and said that the judgement was 'historic.' BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said : "The party welcomes this verdict. Lalu Prasad Yadav was trying to save himself with the Ordinance that the Cabinet had just passed." He added that the court's verdict has come later but it has given a major verdict.
RJD spokersperson, on the other hand, said that the party stands united and backs its leader. The party spokersperson said that it will challenge the court's decision on the case and will support Yadav.

Congress leader Ajay Maken evaded questions regarding the verdict and said that it was too early to talk about political alignment and re-alignment with BIhar.
Congress member Sachin Pilot said that he welcomes the court's decision on the fodder scam. "The law is the same for everybody."
The decision has put the Bihar police also in a tizzy, who are now on a high- alert fearing protests and rampage if members of the RJD take to the streets.
