Modi in Tripura: NDA govt is always in favour of development

Itanagar, Feb 22: Gujarat chief minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is addressing 'Nav Chetna' rally in Tripura.

While speaking to people in Tripura, Modi said the people in Tripura are unemployed whereas people from outside come and work here for even half wages. " We have only two rivers in Gujarat and experience drought every alternate years yet our agricultural growth is 10 per cent," he said.

BJP's governance has dealt with all issues across the country. "We NDA government is always in favour of development," Modi said. Hitting out at the Congress, Modi said that the people of Tripura are educated and know what's happening around them. "You are educated people. You can see the truth. Analyse and decide for yourself," he said.

Earlier Modi addressed a rally in Assam where he hit out at the Congress.

Modi slams Assam government

"The nation's PM is your MP. He hasn't travelled Assam like me, who isn't even an MLA in your state", said Modi. "Where was your CM when there were floods in 2012? He was in USA & went to Japan then", said Modi, adding that, one should never trust such a leader.

Infiltrators from Bangladesh must be sent back: Modi

The infiltrators from Bangaladesh who are here on political mptives must be sent back.", said Modi adding that, not just Assam, all states must accept Hindu refugees from Bangladesh. "They must be treated well," he said.

Modi hits out at Congress

"Assam is a blessed state. But who has looted Assam", asks Modi, adding that 2014 will mark the end of Congress rule in the country. He slammed the Assam state government and accused them of abusing people in detention camps.

"Shouldn't we send out those people who came from Bangladsh, " Modi asked at the rally.

Earlier this day, he addressed a rally in Arunachal Pradesh. Modi appeared on the stage wearing a traditional attire of Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal will always be a part of India, says Modi

Modi assured the people of Arunachal Pradesh that no power in the world can snatch away the state from India. He also spoke about the tourism potential of the state, emphasising on 'Buddhist tourism' . Arunachal is as beautiful as Switzerland, said Modi, adding that 3 Hs, H- Herbal, Horticulture and Handicrafts, can give lot of opportunities to the people in the state.

'You need a govt that listens to you'

You need a govt in Delhi which is sensitive to the problems in every parts of the country, says Modi in Arunachal Pradesh. He added that the state has so much untapped resources like solar energy and wind energy.

Modi praises Arunachal for defying China's threats

Modi praises Arunachal's beautiful landscape and also, the courage shown by the people of the state to defy China's threats. He further paid tributes to Nido Taniam, the youngster from Arunachal Pradesh, who was murdered in Delhi.

Apart from AP, he will be addressing two more rallies in India's north east region today. The other rallies will be in Assam and Tripura.

Modi along with party president Rajnath Singh will address the rally at Pasighat in East Siang district at 11 am, party sources said on Wednesday. He will also attend ‘Barak Vikas Samavesh' rally at Silchar in Assam at 1.30 pm, and the ‘Nav Chetna' Rally at Agartala in Tripura, at 4 pm.

Security measures have been geared up at the venue and preparations are going on in full swing for the mega event, said party sources. The district administration along with the police has made elaborate security arrangement for the rally, sources added.
