The Ministry of Home Affairs has sought a report from the Uttar Pradesh government on the fresh incidents of violence that erupted on Wednesday.
Sushilkumar Shinde said that the government was keeping a close watch on the situation in Muzaffarnagar.

Police book case against 11 people
The Uttar Pradesh police has registered cases against 11 people in connection with the violence that broke out on Wednesday night. The police so far has arrested eight people in the case.

After reports of clashes emerged on Thursday morning, the ADG and IG reached Muzaffarnagar to assess the situation. Reports suggest that 4 people were killed in communal clashes. The ADG and IG will be meeting the SSP and the DM shortly.

BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said that Akhilesh Yadav had failed to control the riots in the state. "There have been about 100 riots in the state after Akhilesh came to power and we condemn it," he said.

Fresh violence erupted in Muzaffarnagar where four people were killed. In a clash between two villages, three men were killed. in a separate incident, a woman who was accompanying her husband, was attacked by a mob and was also killed. Her husband was grievously injured.
