UP will not take AAP seriously, says Congress
New Delhi, Mar 1: As Aam Aadmi Party made its campaign debut in Uttar Pradesh today, Congress leader Ajay Maken said people of the state will not take the nascent party seriously seeing how it abdicated its responsibilities in the national capital. "As Kejriwal ran away from his responsibilities in Delhi, I don't think people of UP will take them seriously.

Not only in UP, would people from other states take them seriously," Maken told reporters here before addressing party workers. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal today kick-started his three-day road show in UP.

Asked if AAP would repeat its success in Delhi during Lok Sabha polls, Maken, who is set to become candidate for New Delhi constituency, said,"Delhi's people have identified AAP leaders in 49 days and they will now think twice before voting for AAP."

"Before elections, they (AAP leaders) had sworn their children saying that they would not take support from any political party in forming government. But, when Congress offered them support they forgot the pledge and took support citing referendum through SMSs," Maken said.

Maken also said that AAP leaders do not back their stand and are changed every time. "AAP leaders had said that they would not take official vehicle, but leaving Kejriwal, his ministers took government vehicles," he said.
