Uttar Pradesh which voted in the first phase of the assembly elections on Saturday seems to have chosen the BJP. People turned up in large numbers to cast their franchise and elect their next representatives. Voting took place in 73 assembly segments spread across 15 districts in UP. The political pendulum in UP has swung away from the SP-Congress alliance and moved towards the BJP.
Prior to the first phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the voters were left undecided whether to vote BJP, BSP, Congress-SP alliance. However, after the first phase of polling ended, the people in Western Uttar Praesh are now clearly backing BJP.
The people chose the BJP as it is the ruling party at the centre. The people felt that electing the same party which rules at the centre would prove beneficial for the state. The good track record of the BJP where development is concerned also played a crucial factor in the mind of the voter.
This time, the voters have choosen wisely between development agenda of BJP and those who give shelter to criminals, indulge in vote bank politics and encourage land and mine mafias. Taking all these factors into consideration, it can be said that the BJP will win at least 45 seats in the first phase of the elections in UP.
