Delhi Police detained all protesters barring them to continue their agitation. The protest in the national capital broke out just hours before a cabinet meeting which will be held to decide the fate of Hyderabad.
According to reports on CNN-IBN, a cabinet note on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh has proposed that Hyderabad be named as capital of Telangana.
The news channels quoted sources and said that the note had proposed that Hyderabad would serve as a joint capital for both Telangana and Seemandhara for a period of ten years.

TRS leader Keshav Rao, reacting to the report said that he had no objection to the idea of a joint capital however there was no question of sharing power with Andhra.
"Hyderabad will be the capital and Andhar will be given the facility to operate from Hyderabad if required for ten years. But if they think of another place like Punjab or Chandigarh, where law and order will be in the hands of the Governor, that is not possible," he said.
Other members of the TRS stressed that administratively hyderabad had to be under complete control of Telangana and that they didnt want a situation like Delhi in Hyderabad.
On the contrary, protests broke out in Seemandhra amid reports that a draft resolution for carving out a separate Telangana state will be coming up in the cabinet meeting this evening.
Protesters took to streets in different parts of Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra) and laid siege to the residences of union ministers and MPs, demanding their resignation to mount pressure on the central government to keep the state united.
Various groups opposing the state's bifurcation called for flash strikes in some towns. Demonstrators took out rallies and burnt effigies of leaders of Congress parties, union ministers and MPs.
