Four office bearers of the BJP were 'relieved of their duties' following the orders of party's Karnataka In charge general secretary Ravi Kumar. The BJP wants no infighting in its Karnataka unit. To send this message out loud and clear, two aides each of B S Yeddyurappa and K S Eshwarappa were relieved of all party responsibilities.

'Unite or perish', BJP's message to its Karnataka leaders, BSY & KSE aides 'relieved'

In a midnight crackdown on warring camps of the BJP, Bhanuprakash and Nirmal Kumar Surana of the K S Eshwarappa or B L Santosh camp and G Madhusudhan and Renukacharya of the B S Yeddyurappa camp were removed from all party posts. The action came in the backdrop of Muralidhar Rao's visit to the city. Muralidhar Rao who was sent to Bengaluru by Ram Lal, the national general secretary organisation, was asked to sort the differences cropping up within the party and the rebellion brewing against B S Yeddyurappa.

The clean up in only a message to other workers of the party including B S Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa that infighting will not be tolerated. Suspended two aides each of both leaders is also an attempt by the BJP to convey that they will not take sides but no indiscipline that would affect the party negatively will be tolerated.

With Muralidhar Rao in the city, leaders of the BJP are meeting him in person to appraise him of the situation. With assembly elections just a year away, the BJP is not in the mood to 'gift' a victory to the Congress as it had in 2013. Muralidhar Rao is expected to give the senior leadership a report on the ongoing crisis in the Karnataka unit following which further action will be initiated.
