As per a TOI report, the directorate sources said a teacher of Kadirkamam government higher secondary school found a Class 9 girl behaving oddly in the classroom.

The teacher made inquiries with her and her classmates and on inspecting her schoolbag he found a bottle of soft drink mixed with alcohol.

The teacher, upon enquiring further, found out that the girl offered the same to three of her friends, who consumed it without realizing that it contained alcohol.

The teacher reported the matter to the principal, who summoned the girl's parents.
