New Delhi, Oct 20: There is a twist to the tale in the Udhampur attack case. A lady and her husband, who are alleged to be Lashkar-e-Tayiba (LeT) operatives, were in front guiding the truck that ferried Mohammad Naved and his accomplice to the attack site in Udhampur.
The information regarding the lady was given by Shabzar Ahmed who was recently arrested by the NIA for ferrying the two terrorists to the attack site.
An NIA official informed OneIndia that they are ascertaining this information given to them by Ahmed. He told us that this lady and her husband were driving a car.
In fact he suggested that they were escorting the truck in which Naved and Noman were being ferried.
Who is this lady operative?
The NIA says that it is ascertaining further about this lady who was also allegedly part of the entire Udhampur operation.
The Lashkar is known to have lady operatives in Kashmir and often use them to divert security agencies.
The Lashkar in fact has a dedicated women's wing which is largely involved in logistics and recruitments.
The NIA official say that they are looking out for this lady and her husband Khurshid Ahmed who are residents of Khulgam.
The Lashkar has a strong module in this area and the mastermind of the Udhampur attack Abu Qasim also spent a lot of time in the same place.
The NIA has, however, not managed to get hold of Qasim who today is the most crucial operative of the Lashkar in Kashmir.
He came close to being nabbed 15 days back, but some locals had tipped him off which facilitated his escape.
