Udhampur: 3 die, 2 injured in accidental blast

Udhampur, Dec 2: In an accidental blast in Mongri area of Pancheri, 3 persons including a Work Supervisor (engaged in road construction) died as a wooden box containing explosives were accidentally thrown in fire.

Two others sustained injuries. The deceased have been identified as supervisor Sukh Raj (50) and Janak Raj (45), both from Bhatinda (Punjab). Apart from this, a labourer Sudesh Kumar (20) also died. He was from Panjar (Pancheri).

The explosion occurred when an infrastructure company completed its construction project under the PMGSY scheme in Ladda in Pancheri belt and was shifting raw

materials from one place to another. Among the materials that were being shifted included explosives too. The incident occurred at 8:45 am when the staff was trying to

keep itself warm. One person died on the spot and two others away from the site were injured. They were later discharged after giving first-aid.

However, the 2 others who were on the spot succumbed to their injuries on their way to the Primary Health Clinic in Pancheri.
