Uber rape: Yadav was notorious in his village too
New Delhi, Nov 4: Women at Shiv Kumar Yadav's village heave a sigh of relief when news of his life imprisonment reached them. With a box of sweets, they visited the nearest Shiva temple to offer their prayers.
A woman said,"He deserves to stay in jail all his life because he made life hell for women."
Recalling how notorious he was, the women said that they would not tread paths with him. At least eight cases were registered against him in Elau police station. Two were that of rape, two of molestation, while the rest were related to brawls. However, villagers stated that there were many more that went unreported.
One of the residents said,"He is a compulsive sex offender. He molested women in almost every house in the village. I know at least 26-27 cases that were not reported to the police."

People in adjoining villages also complained. Son of a school principal, Kumar was reported to be a spoilt brat since childhood. He would bully his parents and threat them into buying new stuff. His name was first registered at the age of 21 and then the toll increased. In 2009, he was booked under the Goonda Act for owning illegal fire arms.
