'Uber' guilty: Driver confesses threatening with rod

New Delhi, Dec 9: In a sensational confession, the Uber driver (who was planning to run to Nepal after committing the crime) said that he had threatened the victim with an iron rod before raping her.

The culprit-Shiv Kumar Yadav-took advantage of the gory incident of Nirbhaya rape and threatened the victim that he would push an iron rod inside her if she did not co-operated with him.

The 27-year old victim had no other choice but to concede. The woman was reported to have dozed off in the cab on her way home to Inderlok. In her complaint, she said that she woke up to find the man molesting her.

Yadav conformed to the details provided by the woman while interrogation. He said when he found teh woman asleep, he parked the car 4 kilometers ahead of her house. He also confessed to have grabbed her throat and threatened to shove an iron rod unless she kept quiet.

Yadav was booked in a similar incident in 2011 when he raped a 22-year old woman passenger working in a Gurgaon pub at knifepoint. He then raped her in an isolated spot.

However, after spending 7 months in jail, he was acquitted.

In this case, he was nabbed in Mathura after 2 days of manhunt although he had switched off the mobile phone containing the Uber App and the GPS. POlice managed to track him through the two other cellphones he was using.
