Two teenagers killed while taking selfie on railway track
Taking a selfie on railway tracks or while leaning out of the train is never a good idea.
Katihar, April 21: Taking a selfie on railway tracks claimed two lives and another sustained injuries after a train hit the trio near Katihar Junction of Bihar on Friday. According to the police, the incident took place at Lalpur bridge under Korha police station area.
The police said that the deceased were identified as Raushan Kumar and Sameer Chaudhary and the injured as Bittu Paswan. The police added that Bittu was conscious enough to move away from the train but was unable to save his two friends in the mishap.
Korha police station in-charge Anuj Kumar said that the bodies were shifted to Sardar hospital for post-mortem.
Earlier on April 14, four youths were killed and another was severely injured when one among them tried taking a selfie while leaning out from the train but slipped and fell out of the train. In order to protect their friend, the four jumped out of train but were hit by a train coming from the other side. The incident took place near Howrah in West Bengal.
The deceased were identified as Sumit Kumar, Sanjiv Polley, Kajal Saha, Chandan Polley and the injured as Taraknath Makal (the selfie-taker) -- all aged between 25-30. Reports said that Makal and the four others were returning from Tarakeswar temple after offering prayers.
According to police, the five people belong to Dumdum area of Kolkata outskirts and added that some of them are employees in factories and others are auto rickshaw drivers.
