TTV Dinakaran cries foul over Panneerselvam camp's symbol
He has alleged that Madhusudhanan's supporters were peddling the 'electric pole' symbol as the AIADMK's original symbol of 'two leaves'.
Days after the Election Commission allotted new names and symbols to two factions of the AIADMK, the party's deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran is crying foul over the 'electric pole' symbol allotted to O Panneerselvam camp. The Sasikala-led AIADMK Amma faction's candidate has filed a complaint with the EC that the Panneerselvam camp is misleading the voters of R K Nagar by manipulating the symbol.
[Why OPS chose the 'electric pole' and Sasikala the 'hat']
Dinakaran, in his complaint to the EC, has alleged that the 'electric pole' symbol of the Panneerselvam camp was being pushed as the 'two leaves' symbol. He has alleged that E Madhusudhanan's supporters and the AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma faction were peddling the electric pole symbol as the AIADMK's original symbol of 'two leaves'.
His complaint comes in the backdrop of Panneerselvam, in one of his addressing stating that the 'lamps' in his party's symbol stood for Jayalalithaa and M G Ramachandran. It may be noted that Panneerselvam camp's Madhusudhanan has already filed nominations under the 'electric pole' symbol and the same has been accepted by the EC.
