In a petition that was filed in the Madras high court on Tuesday, Joseph had deemed Dinakaran a 'convict' and sought the court's intervention to stop him from contesting the April 12 bypoll. The bench headed by Justice Huluvadi G Ramesh deemed asked the petitioner to seek redressal from the Election Commission.
Joseph, who had earlier filed a petition seeking a probe into Jayalalithaa's death, had claimed that TTV Dinakaran was ineligible to contest polls since he was a convict. he also highlighted that a bench of the Madras high court had confirmed the fine imposed on him by the enforcement directorate earlier this year. The last day to file nominations for the bypoll is March 23 and scrutiny will take place on March 24.
