Kolkata, Feb 10: The ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal today ridiculed the change of guard in the state Congress leadership, saying that the party would find it hard to find people to carry its signboard.

"The Congress, in days to come, will find it hard to find supporters to even carry the party signboard. The people of Bengal will give them a fitting reply," TMC leader Partha Chatterjee said.

It is the Murshidabad Congress now. It hardly matters whoever takes charge

"It is the Murshidabad Congress now. It hardly matters whoever takes charge," Chatterjee said in a dig at Adhir Chowdhury, who is also the Murshidabad district Congress president as also Congress legislative party leader Mohammed Sohrab, who is also from the district.

The appointment of Chowdhury, a known baiter of Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, came at a time when the state Congress was plagued by exodus of party workers and MLAs to ruling Trinamool Congress.

The change of guard in the WBPCC, came just two days after two Congress MLA's defied the party's instruction of voting for Congress supported independent candidate in the Rajya Sabha polls and cross-voted in favour of the TMC candidate.
