Tipu clash: VHP, Dal to stage Raasta Roko on Nov 13 in Karnataka
Bengaluru: The VHP and Bajrang Dal in a meeting on Wednesday, Nov 11 over calling a 'state-wide Bandh', resolved not to carry out the same. Instead, the activists across the state would stage Raasta Roko from 11 am to 12 pm on Friday.
The two affiliates of the RSS in the backdrop of Tipu Jayanti melee have decided to protest against the state government by blocking the roads across the state. The activists on Friday, Nov 13 would storm various roads simultaneously from 11 am to 12 pm all over the state to agitate against alleged police brutality on its activists.
It could be recalled that a VHP activist on the day of Tipu Jayanti celebration allegedly fell off from the wall, following alleged scuffle between police forces and protesters at Madikeri. The sea of pro-Tipu and anti-Tipu descended to Madikeri where Tipu Jayanti was organized by the district administration. Tipu, a ruler from Karnataka has massive fan followers and critics in equal measure.
The state-convener of the Bajrang Dal, Sharan Pumpwell speaking to OneIndia confirmed that the organization along with the VHP would not call for a bandh. However, to express their anger against Tipu Jayanti and state government they have resolved to stage Raasta Roko.
