Mumbai, Aug 6: Mumbai Police is searching for an Indian journalist, who allegedly wants to become the spokesperson of Islamic terrorist group ISIS.
According to media reports, the self-proclaimed journalist Zuber Ahmed Khan sympathised with 1993 Mumbai blast convict Yakub Memon by calling him a 'patriot' and said that he wanted to join ISIS.
Crime branch officials believe that Khan lives in Navi Mumbai.
On Tuesday, Aug 4, police was close to nabbing him in Bandra, but the man managed to give slip to the police.
His controversial post was reported to police a few days ago.
He had written that "he wished to give up his Indian citizenship and become a spokesperson for the ISIS", in a post addressed to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Delhi Police on alert
Meanwhile, Police is questioning his friends. A source told OneIndia that he (Khan) had told his friends he would be go to Delhi by Rajdhani Express on Saturday, Aug 1.
"From there, he wanted to go to Iraq embassy, to ask for the Caliphate citizenship", his friends said.
Mumbai police has alerted Delhi Police about the same. The Delhi Police is keeping a tab on whether he would visit the Iraq embassy.
Meanwhile the Pakistan and Iraq embassies have been intimated about this person.
Who is Zuber Ahmed Khan?
Khan reportedly works with a magazine called 'International Peace' and he posts his blogs at zuberahmed.blogspot.com.
His Twitter account @20zuber claims that he completed his Masters Degree in Public Administration. Simultaneously, he completed Diploma in Computer & Diploma in Hardware Engineering from Bombay. He also attended Sikkim Manipal University.
In one of his blog, he has written, "It is the habit of the people of India and Government to kill a person while showing extra love, affection, promises and friendship. If Indian Government can kill to its own friend of Court (amicus curry) Yakub Memon who helped to the Security agencies and who helped to the court given all the evidence against Jihaids.
In an another blog posted on July 31, he has described Memon's hanging as 'sacrifice' and said Indian Judiciary is biased against Muslims.
"That is the only reason Yakub Memon was murdered by the Supreme Terrorist of India for his crime which he did not committed. Yakub Memon surrendered himself on the request of RAW and Indian authorities that fair justice will be provided to him, and they will recommend mercy for him", he wrote.
