'This is a pro-poor Government,' PM Modi tells BJP MPs: Highlights

New Delhi, April 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the workshop 'Garib Kalyan Yojnaye: Its Effective Implementation and role of MP' and addressed party lawmakers and workers on pro-poor schemes.

PM Modi projected his government as pro-poor and pro-farmers and lashed out at his critics for their "congenital habit" of running down BJP.

He said that the government has been dedicated to the poor of this country from the very first day.

Modi said that even though every government tried to push through the nuclear deals, but it was successful now.

He said agreements with France and Canada are big achievements and would have a huge impact in the coming days.

PM also said that the government should always be thankful to the people for reposing their faith in them and electing them with a complete majority.

He targeted former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, in a veiled manner, for having said that out of Re one, only 15 paise reaches the people, saying "you do not have to only do analysis but treat the disease".
