Pics: Terrorists strike at 3 places in J&K; 7 security personnel killed
Srinagar, Dec 5: Hours after terrorists attacked Army camp in Uri killing seven security personnel, another incident of militant attack reported from the State.
According to media reports, terrorist opened firing on a search party in Soura in the outskirts of Srinagar and also a grenade was hurled at a police station in Shopian.
Reports say that the security men rushed to Untabhavan area of Srinagar after receiving inputs of presence of militants in the area. An exchange of fire reportedly followed between security men and terrorists in which a militant was shot dead. Reports say that one more terrorist is still holed up in the neighbourhood.
Five Army jawans and two policemen were killed in an attack by terrorists who entered an Army camp located in Uri, Mohura district along the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir.
Firing had reportedly begun at 3 am in camp of 31 Field Regiment in Mohara.
Reports say that two of the four to five terrorists have also been killed in the ensuing gunbattle.
Media reports say that policemen had rushed to the camp after the attack began. According to reports, a police official of ASI rank has also been injured in the attack.
Militants hurled a grenade at a party of security force personnel at around 5:30 pm in Pohu area wounding six, media reports said.
The attack comes just three days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Srinagar on December 8, ahead of the third phase of Assembly polls in the State.
