Patna, Oct 11: Five persons including two Pakistani nationals were arrested by the National Investigation Agency from Bihar in connection with a terror plot.
The five were arrested from the India-Nepal border at Raxaul, Bihar today. Incidentally this is the same place from where Indian Mujahideen chief, Yasin Bhatkal was arrested.
A team of the NIA and the Intelligence Bureau is questioning the five persons.
The NIA says that they had recovered a map from these persons. The map contained important locations in Bihar, the NIA also said. It is too early to conclude anything and investigations are on. We are questioning them an officer informed OneIndia.
The Indo-Nepal border had become a safe hub for the Indian Mujahideen. Most of the IM cadres who took shelter in places such as Darabanga in Bihar would often use the Nepal border to flee the country. The IM operatives after crossing over into Nepal would wait for their contact who would then transport them to Bihar.
The arrests come in the wake of the intelligence bureau issuing a high alert across the country. Several alerts have been issued by the IB which state that terrorists will be looking to target major targets across the country.
The alert also states that the attacks would be carried out to avenge the surgical strikes the Indian armed forces carried out across the Line of Control.
