KCR and Kavitha
Hyderabad, Aug 11: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's (KCR's) daughter Kavitha landed in a serious legal trouble as Andhra Pradesh Police filed an FIR and hurled sedition charge against her.

Kavitha, who is an MP of TRS, irked the people of the country with her statement that both Kashmir and Telangana are not parts of India.

Kavitha also had asserted that India should redraw the boundaries in Jammu and Kashmir, accepting that "few parts" are not "ours". She made the remarks at The Indian Express Idea Exchange programme.

'Both Kashmir, Telangana were forcefully annexed to Indian territory'

Both Kashmir and Telangana were forcefully annexed to the Indian Union after Independence, she had said at the event.

Congress earlier had staged a protest rally demanding strict action against KCR's daughter. Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi criticised Kavitha and was quoted as saying, "While it was welcome that the TRS MP has exhibited a desire to look at other parts of India and understand those areas, certain portions of her statement, both in respect of J&K and Telangana, are factually incorrect."

"Some portions of her statement perhaps inadvertently casts serious doubts on the integrity and legitimacy of the Indian Union," Singhvi added.
