Telangana govt seeks NIIT's support to increase IT literacy
Hyderabad, Jul 31: With an aim to increase IT literacy in Telangana, the state government today extended an invitation to NIIT to partner with it for digital and computer education in government schools.
According to a statement issued by the government, state's Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao explained various IT initiatives undertaken by the Telangana government to Rajendra Singh Pawar, chairman of NIIT.
Rama Rao also drew Pawar's attention to state government signing MoU with C R Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science.
He also informed that financial services multinational company MasterCard has evinced interest in collaborating with Telangana government on cyber security, the release added.
The IT Minister has asked the NIIT chairman to choose Hyderabad as the destination for conducting research on Cyber Security given the intense activity taking place here.
Rama Rao expressed hope that Telangana his and NIIT will soon enter into an association in the field of cyber security.
