Tehelka case: Goa cops leave for Delhi
New Delhi, Nov 23: Special Goa police team leave for Delhi to quiz Tarun Tejpal, who is facing rape charges. They will seek help from Delhi police to take Tejpal in custody.

Police will also interrogate Tehelka employees. The victim's statement will be recorded in Mumbai, police sources said. 

Also, based on the publicl available information, the Crime Branch of the Goa Police on Friday filed a First Information Report against Tejpal. The FIR filed by Goa Police Inspector Sunita Sawant on behalf the State charges Tejpal of crimes under Sections 354A, 376 and 376(2)(k) of the Indian Penal Code - which deals with outraging the modesty of a woman, rape, and rape of a woman in the custody of a perpetrator.

On Friday, Tarun Tejpal responded to the media for the first time on the allegations against him. In an e-mail, he said he was innocent of the charges. "The truth is it was an incredibly fleeting, totally consensual encounter of less than a minute,"the email said. He added that the CCTV footage from the hotel in Goa will make everything clear.
