In an interview with the Economic Times, the TDP Supremo said that he was against the way Andhra Pradesh was divided, not considering the interests of the people in Seemandhra. He accused the Congress, the TRS and the YSR Congress for the way in which they colluded the division for their "nasty" objectives, without considering equal rights for the people of the two states.
He also accused the Congress of complicating the process of bifurcation.
He said,"TDP has succeeded in making most of the national parties realise that the Congress had complicated a highly sensitive issue of state bifurcation for its evil political interests. We succeeded in making the parties realise that there were constitutional violations and breach of conventions, badly affecting the self pride of a large section of Telugu-speaking people. Of course, we had more expectations from the BJP on the issue but we think they did their best given their limitations and compulsions a political party. They did insist on amicable bifurcation on the lines of statehoods during the NDA regime."
"People of Seemandhra are highly angry with all those entities that insulted them with the unjustified way of state division without bothering to protect their interests. In Telangana, I told people that it was TDP which developed the region and they should elect us for further development," he further said.
Congress maligning Narendra Modi over Gujarat riots
On internal hiccups in the alliance before the final decision, Chandrababu Naidu said,"There will be minor issues in any pre-poll alliance between two or more parties initially. It takes time to convince the cadres and leaders with aspirations at the grassroots level and make them work in coordination with the allies.
Now there are no more issues and both TDP and BJP forces are working in tandem. We are confident that the electorate has understood that the Modi-Babu alliance is a deadly combination with common wavelength for ensuring development at both national and regional levels."
Naidu accused the opposition of maligning Modi for the Gujarat riots although the latter kept showing pain and agony over the Gujarat communal incidents and tribunals acquitting him. THis was nothing but a way to divertthe attention from the corruption and the scams that are prevalent in the Congress regime.
"I am convinced that only Narendra Modi, who promised inclusive development and wealth creation without discrimination, is the right choice for the country today. Muslims of the country also want a stable government. One should also realise the assurances that Narendra Modi has repeatedly made for communal harmony. The latest example is of Narendra Modi seriously condemning the religious fundamentalist hate speeches of some Hindutva leaders like (Vishva Hindu Parishad's Pravin) Togadia", he said. [Read More]
