Tarun discredits victim in petition filed at Delhi HC

Tarun discredits victim in his petition
New Delhi, Nov 26: Goa police will record the Tehelka sexual assault victim's statement today in Mumbai, said police sources.

The woman journalist, who has accused Tehelka former editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal of sexually assaulting her during the Thinkfest event in Goa, resigned from the organisation on Monday saying "the organisation failed her". In a email sent to editor Shoma Chowdhry, the victim said she has received no support from Tehelka in the issue. However, Shoma refuted the victim's statement, calling it a 'lie'.

Sources say that Tehelka's photo editor Ishan Tankha, victim's friend, has also resigned.

Meanwhile, in his petition submitted in the Delhi High Court, Tarun Tejpal discredited the woman journalist and questioned her behaviour. He also urged the court to obtain and check the CCTV footages from the hotel where the incident allegedly took place.

Goa police has been probing the incident.
