Talwars' tribute to Aarushi: Rs 70 lakh hospital for Dasna prisoners
Presently lodged there as inmates, the couple in a letter to the jail authorities have expressed their desire to start the hospital for the inmates and demanded a 300 square feet area hall for the authorities (according to a report by news18.com).
In their proposal, they have also offered to bear the expenses of setting up the hospital, getting medicines and equipments that may amount to Rs 70 lakhs. In fact, they have offered to provide free dental check-up for the prisoners.
The Talwars have said that they would continue to run the hospital even if they are let off by the higher courts or are given bail.
The letter has been sent to Jaganmohan Yadav (IG of Dasna jail) for consideration.
Aarushi was found dead with her throat medically slit in her home in 2008. Initially, the suspicion landed on Hemraj, their domestic help who was missing. But, later his body was discovered from the terrace.
The case was handed over to the CBI, following outrage over the way the matter was being handled by the UP police. Following this, a CBI court found the couple guilty and were sentenced them to life imprisonment.
They moved the Allahabad High Court on January 22, 2014 against the verdict on 26 November, 2013.
