Symposium on Integrative Medicine for Common Non Communicable Diseases

Bengaluru, Jan 1: The pre-conference symposium organised in S-VYASA Yoga University from 27th Dec 2015 to 2nd Jan 2016 has received admirable response from the delegates so far.

Every day of the symposium was dedicated to one specific common non communicable disease. Treatment modalities from the perspective of modern medicine, Yoga therapy, Ayurveda and Naturopathy have been presented by experts of respective fields for cancer, diabetes mellitus, obesity, hypertension so far.

Schedule of delegates on 30th Dec included early morning practice of yogasanas, specifically designed for management of hypertension. A lecture session was then conducted by Dr. Hemant Bhargav (Consultant Yoga Therapy) on Integrated Approach of Yoga Therapy (IAYT) for hypertension, followed by a Q&A session involving a good response from the delegates.

Distinguished professor in Yoga and Physical sciences Dr Alex conducted a session on "New Yogic perspective of health" which was much appreciated by the audience. Post lunch sessions involved presentations by experts from the field of Ayurveda and Naturopathy.

Ayurvedic management of hypertension was presented by Dr. Kishore (Professor of Ayurveda, Sushruta Ayurvedic Medical College) and Naturopathic management by Dr. Shreya (Asst Professor, The School of Yoga and Naturopathic Medicine).

In the concluding sessions Dr. Kashinath (Asst Profesoor, S-VYASA University) provided a holistic view on management of hypertension using combination of different systems of medicine synergistically.

Late evening sessions included Satsang by Professor Raghuramji (Director, Yoga Bharati and Joint Director of Stop Diabetes Movement) regarding the secrets of Karma Yoga Philosophy. The discourse was highly insightful and received accolades from the crowd.
