BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday lashed out at the Tamil Nadu police for attempting to vacate Golden Bay resort where several MLAs of the AIADMK are lodged.
Swamy dubbed the move as 'outrageous' and questioned the complaint by MLA Sarvanan, which has prompted the police to evict the resort.
I called the Home Minister and urged him warn the TN DGP on the outrageous eviction of Palanisamy's MLAs— Subramanian Swamy (@Swamy39) February 15, 2017
Informed the PMO of the outrageous move of the DGP on flimsy FIR against Palanisamy's MLA. I predict this will hasten Palanisamy becoming CM— Subramanian Swamy (@Swamy39) February 15, 2017
Reports say that these MLAs have been held captive by Sasikala supporting faction of the AIADMK to prevent them from switching over to O Panneerselvam's camp.
Earlier, police arrived at the resort following a complaint by MLA Sarvanan. He had alleged that he had been abducted. The Kancheepuram Superintendent of Police was one of the first to reach the resort. There around 100 riot police is outside the resort.
Sasikala Natarajan left the resort on Wednesday for Poes Garden after being told to surrender by the Supreme Court. She paid tributes at the memorial of Jayalalithaa before leaving for Bengaluru where she will surrender before a special court set up at the central jail premises.
