New Delhi, April 2: 28-year-old Star India cricketer Suresh Raina got engaged to his childhood friend Priyanka Chaudhary in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, April 1.

Taking a break from their busy lives, Cricketer Virat Kohli along with his girlfriend and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma graced the occasion with their presence.
It is learnt that Priyanka's family members from Meerut reached Raina's residence at around 2.30 pm. By 5.15 pm, the rituals of engagement were completed. Soon after exchanging the rings, Raina reportedly left for Chennai.
Raina came out of his apartment twice during the function, but kept himself aloof from the prying eyes of media-persons.
Even though the media was not allowed at the extremely private affair, some media-persons were seen in front of Raina's residence, in a hope, to catch the glimpse of soon-to-be-married couple.
The 'roka' ceremony was held on Thursday, March 12 at Godwin hotel in Meerut. Raina and Priyanka's friendship dates back to their childhood days. Priyanka is presently working in The Netherlands.

Raina will be tying the knot with fiancee Priyanka Chowdhary at the five star Hotel Leela Palace in New Delhi. Big wigs from politics and entertainment world, besides fellow cricketers, are expected to attend the bash.
PM Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav have been invited to attend Raina's marriage.
Barely six days after his wedding, Raina is contracted with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who are scheduled to kick start their campaign in the eighth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 9.
Middle-order batsman Raina returned to the country with his India teammates after the semifinal loss to Australia in the World Cup last week.
