New Delhi, April 9: Guess who is the most popular politician on Twitter. According to a study conducted by a private social business firm, BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is the most talked-about politician on Twitter this election season.
The firm, Simplify360, decided on the popularity using a ranking called Simplify Social Index (SSI)which was decided on the basis of various parameters like awareness regarding the politician, total spread, prominence of the politician on other social media platforms which is measured by considering the links shared, images and videos uploaded and his favorability.
Modi has a Simpliy Social Index (SSI) ranking of 76. At least 1,97.902 people talked about Modi in March 2014, said the study - Social Media Buzz Analysis Report. The total buzz induced by Modi on Twitter in March is 15,29,796.
The 'rebel' politician Aravind Kejriwal, chief of Aam Aadmi Party, is at the second place, with a SSI ranking of 73. Around 2,20,069 people talked about him in March and he created a total buzz of 20,14,259, says the survey.
The Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is at third position with a SSI ranking of 72. At least 79,713 talked about him on Twitter in March and he managed to create a buzz of 3,29,180.
Rahul's mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi is at fourth position with a score of 71. BJP leader Rajnath Singh comes next with a score of 68 and Manmohan Singh and Shashi Tharoor have a score of 66. There are three new entrants to the list - NCP leader Sharad Pawar with a score of 65, AAP leader Yogendra yadav with a score of 64 and BJP leader Arun Jaitley with a score of 64.
Interestingly, in the month of March, Arvind Kejriwal overtook Narendra Modi with the highest rate of social buzz.
Most favoured on Twitter
The most favoured politician on Twitter is neither Modi nor Kejriwal by Sachin Pilot with a score of 91. Anurag Singh Thakoor and Naveen Jindal come next. Jaswant Singh scored the least - 41.
