Student forces Snapdeal to deliver iPhone for Rs 68
New Delhi, Feb 19: Snapdeal will think twice before putting up any mega offers on its website after this incident.
Punjab University B Tech student Nikhil Bansal forced the e-commerce giant to cough up an iPhone 5s for Rs 68 only. Unbelievable right? The incident took place when Bansal noticed a 99.7 discount on an iPhone.
Within a flash, Bansal ordered for the phone but his order did not get through and Snapdeal failed to deliver the product. Hence Bansal dragged the e-commerce giant to the Consumer Court in Sangrur alleging that Snapdeal failed to honour the deal.
The court then ruled in favour of Bansal and ordered Snapdeal to provide the phone for Rs 68 to the boy and also pay a fine of Rs 2,000. However Snapdeal appealed against the order, which was rejected on Feb 12, 2016 and the e-commerce giant was asked to pay a bigger fine of Rs 10,000 this time to close the case.
Not only did Snapdeal have to comply with the court orders but it also delivered the iPhone 5s for Rs 68 to Bansal.
