Starstruck UP govt announced 1Cr subsidy for Madhuri's 'Dedh Ishqiya'
Lucknow, Jan 9: After the Rs20 crore Bollywood star-event at Saifai, a small town in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, the Samajwadi Party government in the state has announced a Rs 1 crore subsidy for Madhuri Dikshit's latest movie Dedh Ishqiya !

Not just that, the government is planning to give a 25% tax waiver for the movie in Uttar Pradesh !

The star-studded event was attended by Samajwadi Party leaders, select bureaucrats and residents of Mulayam Singh Yadav's hometown. Apart from many B-class Bollywood stars, there were superstars like Salman Khan and Madhuri Dikshit among the performers.

Over 2000 policemen were deployed at the venue which had seating arrangements for 25000 people. Special chartered planes were arranged to bring Bollywood stars from Mumbai to Lucknow.

Meanwhile, families are being evacuated from Muzaffarnagar riot relief camps after at least 35 deaths due to freezing cold were reported in the camps. The UP government is being widely slammed for their insentivity towards the riot victims. There are allegations that rape and assault cases during the riot are not being investigated by the government.

The communal riot which happened last year has left thousands of people homeless in Muzaffarnagar.
