There appears to be no clarity on the truce claimed by Mulayam Singh Yadav. The Samajwadi party supremo claimed on Tuesday at a press conference in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh that they are one. However, the absence of Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister of UP at the press conference in which Shivpal Yadav was present did raise a few eyebrows.

Mulayam made another point that set eyeballs rolling. He said that it would be the legislators who would elect the leader. This gave the impression that Akhilesh Yadav is not the natural choice for CM candidate.

The big SP Pari'war' in UP

There are 12 key players in the Yadav clan. While each of them have taken the side of either Akhilesh or Shivpal, Mulayam Singh remains neutral. He has made it clear that he will not let go of either Shivpal or Amar Singh.

Make truce with both your uncles (Singh included) he told Akhilesh. However, Akhilesh is not prepared to accept Singh as his uncle and wants him out of the party.
