"Gandhi visited the hospital this morning to enquire about Bardhan's health. She was briefed about Bardhan's condition by doctors attending on him," CPI national secretary D Raja, who was present at the hospital during the Congress President's visit, said.
Raja said Bardhan was "critical" but there is "slight" improvement in his condition. "According to doctors treating him, he is stable and there is slight improvement in his condition.
He is required minimal support from ventilator," the Rajya Sabha member added. The 92-year-old former CPI general secretary Bardhan is being treated at ICU of the hospital since last Monday after he suffered a paralytic stroke.
