Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli: Will not stop till we regain our lost glory

Rae Bareli, June 14: Congress President Sonia Gandhi visited her parliamentary constituency with her daughter Priyanka on Friday and thanked the people for their support in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election.

Sonia, who was on her first visit to Rae Bareli after her victory in LS polls said that the Congress would not stop till it regains it glory by adhering to its basic principles.

"We will have to win over the confidence of the people in the areas where the party lost and I will lead from the front in this task," she said. "We will not stop till we have not regained the glory of the party," she said.

'Priyanka had worked here and will continue to work in the future too'

She also said that she was saddened by the defeat even though party workers had worked really hard but encouraged her party workers to work with vigour. She said that due to elections she was not available to visit her constituency but her daughter was there continuing her work.

"Priyanka had worked here and will continue to work in the future too," she said. She said that her party had a close eye on the BJP. "As the opposition party we will keep an eye on their working. It is easy to make promises but difficult to fulfil them. People will soon have an idea about this government", she added.
