Sonia Gandhi condemns attack on Afghan Parliament
New Delhi, June 22: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday condemned the terror attack on Afghan parliament, calling it a "heinous attempt by fundamentalists to subvert democratic forces".
Expressing deep concern over a string of explosions in the Afghan parliament complex, she said such cowardly attacks by terrorists can never deter the democratic traditions gaining strength the world over.
Afghan parliament attack: Six Taliban gunmen killed
The Congress and indeed the entire country stood by the people of Afghanistan, she said in a statement.
Afghan Police said that all seven Taliban militants were killed in the attack that also injured over 20 civilians.
Meanwhile, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi too condemned the terrorist attack and said:
