Smriti Irani "well informed", say IIT reps; plans a "retreat" with them
The minister asked for the suggestions and the problems of the academicians in the areas of development.
She also met Vineet Joshi, the director of CBSE. In fact, one of the directors of the IIT claimed that Smriti Irani was well-informed and talked non-hesitantly on the lines of development. She is likely to visit Gujarat soon and visit Gandhinagar IIT, one of the newer institutes.
BJP had promised of an IIT in every state in its election manifesto. Irani is also said to have helped the students of School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in Bhopal and Vijaywada and in IIIT Kancheepuram get theor certificates, which were held since 2005.
Congressman Ajay Maken had raised questions against the educational qualification of the HRD minister, saying that there were discrepancies in the election affidavit regarding her education qualification.However, BJP and few of the other Congressmen like Omar Abdullah came to her support.
