Siachen Miracle: Big B, Tendulkar, Aamir pray for Lance Naik Hanumanthappa

New Delhi, Feb 10: In this hour of crisis, the family of Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad is not alone. The entire country is praying for his life.

In fact, celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Sachin Tendulkar tweeted to express their solidarity with the Jawan and his bereaved family.

Hanumanthappa, the Indian Army Jawan, who was miraculously found alive six days after an avalanche hit the Army base in Siachen is currently in coma. The brave heart is battling for his life at the Army Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi.

Bollywood veteran star Bachchan, tweeted, "T 2140 - Lance Naik Hanumanthappa 6 days below 25 feet of snow in Siachen, our jawan, our protector, critical ..OUR PRAYERS EVER FOR HIM !!."

However, the actor rued that the country was not praying enough for a brave Jawan, who is battling for his life.

"T 2140 - India Trends on birthdays and Cricket and Film promotions .. NOT on prayers for our Jawan Lance Naik Hanumanthappa, lying critical," tweeted Bachchan.

"T 2140 - We pray for him that protects us in extreme circumstances and serves his country .,PRAYERS FOR L/N HANUMANTHAPPA and his recovery," added Bachchan.

Sachin

Cricketer Tendulkar tweeted, "Praying for Lance Naik Hanumanthappa. Fighter, braveheart. Salute to the courageous soldiers who lost their lives in #SiachenAvalanche."

Aamir Khan

Echoing similar sentiments, Aamir Khan said that he is praying for the speedy recovery of Hanumanthappa and that his thoughts were with the braveheart's family.

"Kudos to the recovery team who have fought against all odds in the most difficult conditions to bring about this miracle. Our salute to all his comrades whose lives were lost in this calamity. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. Jai Hind," Aamir Khan tweeted.
