Shiv Sena now suggests Sharad Pawar for President

The Shiv Sena has now suggested NCP chief Sharad Pawar's name for the next President. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut described Pawar as a 'worthy leader' with the 'right credentials'.
The Shiv Sena had earlier backed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for the post of President. Raut had then said that the BJP should consider Bhagwat's name.
Bhagwat, however, rubbished such reports and said he would not accept it even his name is put forth.
Reports suggest that even the JD (U), Left and the Congress were considering Pawar's name for the President.
After its historic win in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP is comfortably placed to push someone of its choice for President.
The JD (U), Left, Congress and other opposition parties are holding hectic parleys to put up their own candidate to challenge the NDA proposal.
A second term for President Mukherjee is also being discussed, but reports say that he would agree only if PM Modi agrees to re-nominate him and all parties back him.
President Mukherjee's term comes to an end in July.
