New Delhi, April 28: Senior Congress leader Sheila Dikshit, who has openly aired her grievances of being sidelined by her party colleagues during the recent Uttar Pradesh assembly elections and the Delhi civic body polls, has a piece of advice for Rahul Gandhi.

However, the three-time Delhi chief minister excused herself from giving any guidance to her successor and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal in 'matters of politics'.

Talking to NDTV, the 79-year-old Congress veteran said that Rahul should make himself more accessible to party workers to boost their morale as they are feeling 'low' due to Congress' regular defeats in elections.

The former governor of Kerala cited the example of party president Sonia Gandhi, who earlier used to spend 2-3 hours every day at the party headquarters in the national capital.

However, when asked what suggestions she would like to give to the incumbent Delhi CM, whose party too was routed in the Delhi civic body polls -- the results of which were declared a few days ago -- said that she was nobody to advise Kejriwal.

"Nobody can give advice to Kejriwal," said Dikshit, taking a dig at the Delhi CM's attitude of running his party and the national capital in a 'dictatorial manner'.

Dikshit said that she was always ready to serve the party whenever she was asked to. During the initial days of the UP assembly poll campaigns, she jumped into the fray, after she was declared as the Congress' CM candidate.

However, later when she learnt that the Congress and the Samajwadi Party forged an alliance to fight the elections under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav, she came forward to declare that she was no more in the CM race.

Dikshit added that no one from the Congress told her that the party and the SP were forming an alliance. After Dikshit learnt about the alliance she voluntarily stepped aside from the CM race as "two persons can't be the CM face for a single party or an alliance".

"I wish Congress should keep its communication lines opened to avoid future embarrassment," she added.
