Kolkata Shocker: Shantinikentan student commits suicide on Rabindranath Tagore's death anniversary
According to police, the girl, a second year student of music in Shantiniketan, was a drug addict and she might have been suffering from depression. Unable to deal with her depression, the girl committed suicide, said police.
Shatabisha's friends and mother confirmed that she was addicted to drugs. Meanwhile, police discovered a few sticks of gums which are used by such drug addicts.

Shatabisha's death shocked everyone at the moment when everyone in Shantiniketan remembered Rabindranath Tagore on his 73rd death anniversary.
The university town of Santiniketan is known as a cultural centre as well as the place where Rabindranath penned most of his literary works and where music, art and literature amalgamated.
Rabindranath, who is also known as Kobi Guru, founded Viswa Bharati University at Santiniketan in 1921 drawing scholars from all over the world.
