Sexual Assault: What is pedophilia which is haunting Asaram in jail

Jodhpur, Oct 1: Jodhpur Police now claimed that controversial self-proclaimed godman

has Pedophilia, a disease which seems to be one of the reasons behind all hullabaloos over Asaram.

Asaram, who is currently lodged in Jodhpur Central Jail, has been accused of sexually harassing a minor girl in his ashram near Jodhpur on Aug 15. Now with police latest charge against the septuagenarian, Asaram may face more trouble in pursuing the sexual assault case hurled against him.

What is Pedophilia?

The term suggests that it is a psychiatric disorder in person(s) who has sexual interest towards prepubescent children (generally age 11 years or younger). Pedophilia is also spelled as Paedophilia.

An adolescent who is 16 years of age or older must be at least five years older than the prepubescent child before the attraction can be diagnosed as pedophilia.

Asarm denied bail:

Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday, Oct 1 rejected bail plea filed by Asaram's lawyer Ram Jethmalani. Meanwhile, his judicial custody also has been extended till Oct 11.

Although the spiritual guru overruled all allegations against him, he had cleared potency and other medical tests. Jodhpur police have been opposing the bail plea filed by Asaram's counsel.
