Patna, Sept 23: 74-year-old Asaram Bapu might face more legal actions against him as his "uncharitable" remark on the infamous Delhi gangrape victim, who was known as Nirbhaya, has returned to haunt the spiritual leader.

Bihar police have been asked to produce Asaram before a local court by 21. The court issued the summon following a petition filed by advocate Sudhir Ojha. The advocate had filed the petition on Jan 8, 2013.

Chief Judicial Magistrate S P Singh passed the order against Asaram's controversial remark in which he had claimed that the victim should have addressed the rapists as brothers to escape the gangrape.

Asaram is presently lodged in a Jodhpur jail in Rajasthan in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl. The self-proclaimed godman has been accused of assaulting a minor girl in his ashram near Jodhpur. The septuagenarian was arrested from his Indore ashram in Madhya Pradesh.

Aaram's remark on Nirbhaya had surfaced at the moment when the nation was protesting against the horrible gangrape which had shaken the country. A 23-year-old paramedical student was raped by six men and was thrown out of a moving bus in the national capital. Battling for her life in a hospital in Delhi and Singapore, the girl finally succumbed to her injuries.

All six men, including a juvenile were arrested. While the main accused Ram Singh committed suicide, the juvenile has been given 3-year-imprisonment. Other four rapists have been given death sentence.
